Photographic Artist Andreas Rutkauskas is the winner of the second once-a-year Prefix Prize worth $2,000.00. He also receives an exhibition and publication.


TORONTO, CANADA- Photographic artist Andreas Rutkauskas is the winner of the next annual Prefix Prize. He is a artistic documentarian who captures landscapes marred by industrial and technological intervention. Rutkauskas photographic projects provide awareness to climate improve and how humans are destroying the surroundings by way of their steps.

As the winner of this year’s competitors, Andreas Rutkauskas receives an exhibition, a publication, and a dollars prize of $2,000.00 CA. About Andreas Rutkauskas

An award-winning photographic artist, Andreas Rutkauskas holds a BFA from the College of Manitoba (Winnipeg) and an MFA in Images from Concordia College (Montréal). He is the recipient of a lot of residencies, which include the Canadian Forces Artists Application, the Chilkoot Trail Artist Residency, and the Banff Centre. His most the latest residency was at the Fondation Grantham pour l’art et l’environment (Saint-Edmond-de-Grantham, QC). He was the initial artist to attend the inaugural residency.  Rutkauskas was a study fellow with the Canadian Pictures Institute, Countrywide Gallery of Canada (Ottawa) in 2018. He is now a lecturer in Inventive Research, Visual Arts at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan Campus. Andreas Rutkauskas work has been exhibited in galleries, museums, and artist-operate centers throughout Canada and internationally. Rutkauskas is a resident of Kelowna, B.C.

The Yearly Prefix Prize

The Prefix Prize is an annual award for photographic artists of any nationality. It was introduced in 2021 with the aim of honoring artists at any phase of their careers, who have yet to obtain the recognition they are worthy of. The prize consists of an exhibition, a publication, and a hard cash award of $2,000.00. The Prefix Prize is the undertaking of the Prefix Institute of Present-day Artwork with the assistance of presentation associates, the Scotiabank Get in touch with Images Competition, Tangled Art and Disability, and Underline Studio, as nicely as a founding partner, Partners in Art.
