Klein ISD voters turn down new stadium, events center; approve new schools

Klein ISD called for a bond election during their regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022. The bond proposes funding for numerous new projects including new buildings and equipment, and a new sports stadium.

Proposition A, which includes including a new intermediate school, facility updates and renovations, and upgrades for academic, arts and athletic spaces passed with 59 percent in favor. The $843.84 million also will bring safety and security improvements, all projects to address rapid growth in the district.
Proposition B includes $51.51 million to purchase new student and teacher devices, and new classroom instructional technology for every school. It passed with 59 percent in favor.
Propositions to build a new football stadium and events center failed.
Fifty-two percent of voters were against Proposition C, which included $131.325 million to construct a new district events center with indoor seating for more than 8,000
Proposition D, which proposed $75.19 million for a new district-wide stadium as well as renovations for Klein Memorial Stadium fell with 53 percent voting against the measure.
