Suspended from gallery ceilings or strung across an open up courtyard, countless lengths of yarn comprise the chromatic installations by artist Eric Rieger, aka HOTTEA (earlier). He arranges the gentle textiles in concentric circles or huge gradients that stretch from wall to wall, producing vibrant fields of shade that shift in composition dependent on the perspective. Most reflect the artist’s reminiscences or experiences, and in modern years, he’s mounted site-specific parts in metropolitan areas like Minneapolis, Houston, and Miami.
The tri-coloured “Strangers” is HOTTEA’s biggest outdoor do the job to day and was developed for Breve Competition in Belo Horizonte.
